Affiliate marketing has just added another string to its bow. And not the least… Indeed, Instagram, the network with 2 billion monthly active users, is now extending the “Link stickers” functionality to all its users, and no longer just to accounts with more than 10,000 followers. Link stickers? It’s the possibility for everyone to integrate links, including affiliation links, directly into Instagram stories. A revolution when you consider that, until now, the only way to insert a link was in your bio. Not very practical for recommending a product.

Nano-influence, the new affiliation lever

This update has been eagerly awaited by many publishers and nano-influencers, and opens the way to a host of new partnerships for brands. In particular, it will enable them to reach new communities, albeit smaller in size, but with a higher rate of engagement. As an indication, the engagement rate of a mega-influencer is estimated at 1.97%, 2.05% for a macro-influencer, 2.15% for a micro-influencer and 2.43 to 5.60% for a nano-influencer (source: HypeAuditor).

Recommend your products to all influencers

In this way, a cycling enthusiast, followed by a few hundred or thousands of cycling fans, will be able to recommend products, on an affiliation model, in his or her stories. A way of providing a real service to his or her community by offering a direct link to the recommended product. To give its customers access to these new communities, Effinity has opened up its affiliation platform to Instagram nano-influencers. They can sign up to the programs of brands whose products they want to recommend. This new method of remunerating nano-influencers, based on actual conversions, complements other collaboration methods based on brand awareness campaigns.
