The UK e-commerce market is one of the most advanced in Europe. With sales of 171 billion euros in 2016 (up 11% on 2015), it represents significant potential for French advertisers. To support its customers in this territory, Effinity has chosen to join forces with a local partner, eAzeMedia. Alice Traver, market manager, explains.
Why did you decide to set up in the UK?
We have received many requests from our French advertisers to develop an affiliate program in the UK. It was therefore essential for us to establish a presence in this market. We chose to form a partnership along the same lines as we had done in Germany, by teaming up with an agency close to Effinity’s values. It was also important for Effinity to strengthen its position in this very mature e-commerce market. This enables us to anticipate future trends in other markets, such as France and Southern Europe.
Why team up with a partner?
Until now, we’ve been supporting our customers (Wonderbra, Columbia, Odlo, Kjus, Eterna, Eurosport Player, etc.) in this market via our network of affiliates with traffic in the UK. But this is a highly competitive market, and one of the most advanced in Europe in terms of e-commerce, so it’s necessary to have a good understanding of how it works, and of the Top publishers that make it up. It therefore seemed more appropriate to join forces with a partner who has been present on this market for over 15 years, so as to be able to work with a local network of affiliates.
Will you be working with UK customers in the French market?
Yes, absolutely, it’s a two-way partnership, which also aims to help English advertisers develop on the French market. This means, of course, that the sites must be well translated into French and accept payment in Euro.
