After a few years of difficult economic conditions, Spain is back in the black! In 2016, the country grew by 3.2%, the same rate as in 2015. Driven by household consumption, the online sales sector is also on the rise. In 2015, e-commerce sales reached 20 billion euros, up 18% on the previous year. It’s against this favorable backdrop that Effinity, a player in the Spanish performance marketing market from its Paris offices since 2009, has decided to take a further step towards our Iberian neighbors. We have just opened an office in Barcelona, headed by Chema Velasco. Explanation from the main person concerned…

What is Effinity’s business in Spain?

In 2016, Effinity achieved very strong gross margin growth in the Spanish market, of around 67%, over the last 12 months compared with the previous year. These results are due to three main factors. The first is external, as the economic context is increasingly favorable to consumption. Secondly, two internal reasons. The first is that our team is constantly improving its expertise and knowledge of the local market. And this translates into the signing of new contracts and the optimization of results for our existing customers. And the second is the “new Effinity offers” effect we brought in 2016, such as Social Media Ads or a white-label partnership management platform.

What will your arrival in Spain change?

The opening of our Barcelona office will enable us to be closer to our Spanish customers (PcComponentes, Venca, etc.) and offer them better support. Our local presence will also enable us to gain greater notoriety, and thus be even more effective from a commercial point of view. Our aim is to become a key player in performance marketing in this market. To achieve this, we’ll be promoting our new offerings (Product Ads, Effipics, B2B, etc.) and demonstrating our added value to differentiate ourselves from our competitors.

What about your French customers in Spain?

For our French customers (Norauto, Maisons du Monde, ProbikeShop, etc.), geographical proximity is ensured by a member of the Effinity Spain team based in Paris. Our physical location in Spain gives us a better knowledge of the market and the opportunity to develop new partnerships for our French advertisers.

If you’re ever in Barcelona, come and see us! Effinity Spain
